    Description

Very rare buckle from the 1949 NATIONAL WESTERN STOCK SHOW in Denver.  It was and still is one of the biggest and most prestigious of the winner pro rodeos.  This buckle was made by Richardo of sterling and 10K gold and is so marked.  4X2 1/2", fits up to a 2" belt.  Has a few wear marks but in overall good condition.  Barney Willis was the winner.  He was a top hand and won may major rodeos in the steer wrestling.  He won the big one at Lewiston, Id. three times.  He was a sprinter that qualified for the Olympics that was canceled because of the war.  His picture as a sprinter was on the Wheaties box at one time.  He went on to be a top race horse trainer.
