Antique Northwood Stippled Sapphire Blue Peacock & Urn Ice cream Bowl 10”.
This beautiful sapphire bowl details the artistry of Northwood.
This antique stippled bowl has a clear and intact motif! You can see the details clearly including the peacock chasing the elusive bee! The interior colors you can see range from sapphire blue, golds, warm yellow green hues, and purple, pink tones.
This is a beautiful bowl, flip it over and you can see the rich sapphire blue glass. Hold it up to the light and you can see not only the outline of the motif, but when held up to the light the inside coloration creates the appearance of a warm glow shining through the bowl.
This bowl has the typical straw marks found in carnival glass snd for the age is in great condition with the interior clear and intact.
The only issue I identified as I was taking close up pictures for this post. ( see close up of scallop lip)
One of the scallops that form the lip of the bowl appears to have been cut off. I have included a close up picture for your reference.
The portion that has been removed is small and does not detract from the overall bowl and it’s beauty.
I acquired the bowl as is, so I don’t have any background on what might have caused the issue with the scallop.
I have however taken this into consideration in the pricing of the bowl.
Pictures have not been enhanced - pictures were taken indoors under regular house lighting so you can see what you would receive.
