GORGEOUS Northwood Grape & Cable Amethyst Purple Carnival Glass Covered Compote

Description

This lovely piece of glass is over 100 years old, likely made around 1900.  It was designed as a covered compote or candy dish by Northwood.  It is a piece of vintage carnival glass, which was made to give away as carnival game prizes.  The pattern is Grape and Cable.  The glass is amethyst or purple.  It has a nice iridescence with a little wear in the bottom of the bowl.  It stands about 9" tall to the top of the lid.  It is in very good condition for its age with a mold mark in the rim of the compote and some chips to the edges of the lid.  It displays very well.  It is a hard piece to find.
