    Description

WISHBONE with RUFFLES AND RINGS Back
Amethyst Carnival Glass, Scroll Footed, Ruffled Bowl
    c. 1908
    Made  by the
    Harry C. Northwood Glass Co.
    Wheeling, West Virginia
    Approximate Dimensions:
    8.5" (Diameter)
    2.75" (High)
This is a spectacular amethyst carnival glass ruffled bowl with scrolled feet featuring the pattern "
    WISHBONE
" made by the Harry C. Northwood Glass Company of Wheeling, West Virginia, circa 1908.  The backside pattern is "
    RUFFLES AND RINGS
    ."
Excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs.  The iridescence is phenomenal, rich, unblemished, with lots of blue-green, gold and purple tones.  The pattern is well-articulated, well-struck, and unmarred.  There are the usual internal air bubbles and straw marks (shearing tool marks) commonly associated with the hand manufacturing of old carnival and opalescent glass.  Each piece of old carnival glass is unique, no two are exactly alike.
An exceptional piece of antique Northwood carnival glass.  Would make a wonderful gift.
